"You know what the music means," or do you? Emmy and Peabody Award-winning Jonathan Katz's debut music album, Easy Listening, But Not That Easy, is a departure from his beloved cartoon therapist, Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist, and explores his musical roots.
In 1974, Jonathan got a job managing Greene Street Studios in SoHo, NY. He got paid either with money or the use of the studio to record his songs, which he took full advantage of. Along with the studio, he had access to great musicians and the world's best audio engineer: Wieslaw Wosczcyk, a new arrival from Poland.. Shortly after, he formed and fronted the seminal band Katz and Jammers (Andy Pitt: Guitar; Nina Tax: Bass Guitar; Greg George: Tenor Sax; Frank Velardi: Drums; and Jonathan Katz: Rhythm Guitar and lead vocals). It didn't take long for him to discover that the audience was more responsive to his patter than the music, so he took a break from music to pursue a career in comedy, and now, 50 years later, Katz is ready to release his music for the first time.
Easy Listening, But Not That Easy is now available on all major streaming platforms.
